EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A home in Las Cruces was damaged after it caught fire Wednesday morning, June 5, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.
The Fire Department says at around 7 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the report of smoke coming from an abandoned two-story home on the 4000 block of Tellbrook Road.
First arriving crews found the home to be completely engulfed in flames and heavy smoke.
The fire also extended to nearby powerlines and vegetation in the area near the home, according to the Fire Department.
Firefighters attacked the fire from multiple sides and was brought under control about one hour after crews arrived.
Crews learned the property was outside of Las Cruces city limits in Dona Ana County. The scene was turned over to Dona Ana Fire Rescue for investigation, according to the Fire Department.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is unknown, according to the Fire Department.
