EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) is investigating a “suspicious” possible homicide of an 80-year-old woman.
According to LCPD, on Sunday, Aug. 4, officers responded to a welfare check on the 100 block of West Madrid Rd.
Police found the dead woman, who was later identified as Maria Rodriguez, 88, inside the home and “deemed suspicious” due to how she died, according to LCPD.
Police have not released how she died or the circumstances.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section are investigating the case as a homicide, according to LCPD.
