KTSM News – Las Cruces Police investigate shooting death of man

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) is investigating the shooting death of a 35-year-old man near North Las Cruces Park.

According to LCPD, Juan Diego Martinez, 35, was found shortly before 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 along the block of 1001 Valley View Ave. in an undeveloped area.

A passerby found Martinez, who was unresponsive in an undeveloped area near North Las Cruces Park, according to LCPD.

Police say Martinez suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was declared dead on the scene.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Martinez before his death, the company he had, or information on the possible responsible party is asked to call Las Cruces Police at (575) 526-0795.
