EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Las Cruces Police are responding to a suspected shooter barricaded at a motel on Tuesday morning, June 10, in Las Cruces, police said via its Facebook page.
LCPD said officers are at the active scene investigating a shooting and a barricaded subject at a motel room on the 1700 block of West Picacho Avenue.
The incident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m., LCPD said.
Police have blocked off Picacho Avenue between Quesenberry Street and Motel Boulevard. There is no access to Picacho from 17th Street, LCPD said.
LCPD said residents in the area are asked to evacuate or shelter in place. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes to avoid the area.
