EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department is still trying to identify the two men who are believed to be responsible for the 1990 mass shooting at a local bowling alley that ultimately killed four people.
The Police Department says this Saturday, Feb. 10, will mark the 34th anniversary regarding the mass shooting and is offering a $25,000 reward for information that helps identify the two men.
Police say the mass shooting happened on Saturday morning, Feb. 10, 1990 at Las Cruces Bowl located on 1201 E. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, NM., 88001.
Police say two gunmen forced a total of seven victims, three adults and four children, ages 2, 6, 12, and 13, into an office inside the bowling alley before opening fire.
Police say a 12-year-old girl who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds called 911 later that morning.
Police were then dispatched to the bowling alley where the victims were found shot execution-style.
First arriving officers found Steven Teran, 26, his daughter Paula Holguin, 6, and Amy Hauser, 13 dead.
Teran’s younger daughter, Valerie Teran was rushed to a local hospital but died shortly after.
Those who were wounded during the shooting were Melissa Repass, the 12-year-old girl who called 911, her mother Stephanie Senac, 34, and Ida Holguin, 33.
They were transported to area hospitals and survived. However, Senac died nine years later in 1999 from complications related to her injuries, according to police.
The suspects stole an estimated $5,000 in cash from the business before setting fire to the office in what was likely an attempt to destroy evidence, according to police.
Investigators believe the suspects are Hispanic with dark complexions and spoke fluent English.
Las Cruces-Dona Ana County Crime Stoppers continues to offer a $25,000 reward for information that helps identify the men responsible for the mass-shooting.
