KTSM News – Las Cruces Public Schools to host ‘Budget Town Hall’ meeting

Posted on April 28, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) will host a meeting next week to discuss the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 budget for the district.

The Budget Town Hall Meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, in the boardroom of the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S. Main, the district said.

LCPS said the meeting will be led by Deputy Superintendent of Finance, Procurement, and Budget Chenyu “Alex” Liu, and Director of Budget Analysis and Development Matthew Saenz.

Wednesday’s event is the final in a series of meetings during this budget cycle to provide transparency and demonstrate fiscal responsibility to community stakeholders, LCPS said.

The district said the cycle includes collaboration by the Budget Survey Committee, a group of teachers, administrators, community members and staff who collected feedback on budget priorities using a public budget survey.

The public is invited to attend the May 7 meeting in person or view it online using this link.
