EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 52-year-old woman with potential life-threatening injuries, was rescued by Las Cruces Fire Department firefighters after she was stuck in a house fire.
Firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire at roughly 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at the 1300 block of Bon Burt Ln.
According to LCFD, fire crews discovered heavy smoke coming from the home and learned from bystanders that a disabled woman was possibly inside.
Firefighters entered the home to search for the woman and attack the fire, according to LCFD. They found the woman in a bathroom and immediately removed her from the burning home.
The woman was given initial medical care and was then transported to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, LCFD said.
No other injuries were reported and the house fire was brought under control in 10 minutes.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire and damage estimates.
