EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico House, Senate Republicans, and other lawmakers attended a tour of the Otero County Processing Center on Monday morning, Aug. 25.
“This is in advance of a potential special legislative session in which Governor Michelle Lujan-Grisham has indicated legislation aimed towards the banning of such facilities that contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may be introduced,” the New Mexico State Senate said.
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan was invited by the bipartisan group but declined the offer to attend.
