EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Spaceport America will host a free open house event later this month.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21.
Spaceport America is the first purpose-built commercial spaceport in the world. It is located about 20 miles southeast of Truth or Consequences.
Attendees of all ages are welcome to learn about the site, its tenants, and its operations.
Vendors (food and non-food), static aircraft displays, exhibitors, STEM-related activities, and guest presenters including NASA astronaut Wendy Lawrence, longtime NASA employee Michelle Lucas, New Mexico Lt. Gov. Howie Morales, and former Johnson Space Center flight director Ginger Kerrick will be on hand for the open house, organizers said.
