EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Lincoln National Forest will be conducting prescribed burns on the Sacramento Ranger District from Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 3-6, the national forest said in a news release.
Crews will continue to focus on approximately 400 acres within the 16 Springs Project Area, the Lincoln National Forest said.
There will be continued monitoring of the area after operations end. Signs will be set up alerting the public about the burns, too.
Exact ignition dates are subject to weather and ground conditions, and can vary or be canceled on short notice, the Lincoln National Forest said.
Smoke may be visible in the 16 Springs area, Mayhill, Cloudcroft, and Hope. Following completion, crews will continue to monitor for hot spots, as well as regrowth and forest health in the project areas, the Lincoln National Forest said.
