KTSM News – Local comedian accused of $200 theft in road rage incident

Posted on October 28, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A local stand-up comedian is being accused of stealing $200 from a woman’s purse during a road rage incident last week that went viral on social media, according to court documents obtained by KTSM 9 News.

Alfredo Marquez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County jail last week on Thursday, Oct. 23, for criminal mischief and robbery, according to jail records.

Jail records also show a traffic violation was issued to Marquez on July 31 for an issue with his brake lights and driving with no or an expired driver’s license, with a $35,000 cash or surety bond.

Court documents say last week, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, officers were dispatched to 7870 N Mesa in reference to a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a woman, who told police that she was traveling along the 4800 block of N Desert and intended to merge into the turning lane to turn on Mesa.

The woman told police that she thought there was space to enter the lane, but then her vehicle collided with Marquez’s vehicle.

After the crash, the woman got out of her vehicle to exchange insurance information with Marquez, who began yelling at the victim, “You hit me, b****. Stupid a**,” according to court documents.

While yelling, Marquez also aggressively approached the woman, which led the woman to return to her vehicle and call the police, according to court documents.

As the woman entered her SUV and tried to close the door, Marquez stopped the door from closing, took the woman’s phone from her hand, and threw it across the roadway into a dirt area, according to court documents.

The woman then told Marquez to stop and she exited the SUV to retrieve her phone.

While the woman went to retrieve her phone, she told police that Marquez opened the door to her SUV, reached inside the vehicle, and took $200 from the woman’s purse, according to court documents.

The woman then approached Marquez in an attempt to stop him, to which Marquez then turned around and pushed the woman to the ground, according to court documents.

The woman then told Marquez, “Hey, you took my money. I have insurance, give it back,” and Marquez then said to the victim, “I’ll f*** you up b****. I’ll f*** you up” and fled the scene.

A video posted online by FitFam went viral, showing the incident, where Marquez can be seen opening the woman’s SUV door, grabbing her phone, and throwing it across North Desert Boulevard near Mesa Street.

Marquez is also seen pushing the woman, who is seen falling to the ground. Several witnesses are also seen approaching Marquez in defense of the woman.
