EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man accused of killing a teen girl last February during an alleged drug deal gone wrong in East El Paso will be having a bond hearing on Friday, Feb. 23.
Cesar Roa, 24, has been held on bonds totaling to over $1 million since his arrest last march.
171st District Judge Bonnie Rangel will be deciding if Roa’s bond should be lowered.
As we have previously reported, El Paso Police were dispatched at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, to the 14300 block of Coyote Trail on where Jasmine Adame, 16 was found deceased near an alleyway with a gunshot wound to her head.
Roa has since been arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center in connection to the murder and drug-related charges.
According to court documents, Adame communicated with Roa through social media that Thursday and arranged a plan to purchase marijuana.
Roa was then identified as the shooter who fired a 9mm handgun and struck Adame after she intended to steal the marijuana, according to court documents.
Court documents also state bullet casings near the alleyway where Adame was found have been used to identify the handgun that was used the night of the murder with the use of a search warrant at Roa’s residence.
The search warrant also revealed a total amount of 127 grams of THC in the residence. Roa has since been arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center in connection to the murder and drug-related charges.
