EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 25-year-old man is facing burglary charges after he allegedly stole property from vehicles in East El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Joseph John Martin Darcy, 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of vehicle under a $9,000 bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office provided surveillance-camera video of a man checking a vehicle’s door and finding it unlocked. He then proceeded to rummage through the vehicle — including the center console, the glove box and back section.
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, deputies responded to multiple reports of vehicle burglaries along the 700 block of Hertfordshire Road. One of the burglaries involved the theft of more than $3,000 of property, the Sheriff’s Office said.
During the preliminary investigation, deputies identified Darcy as a possible suspect. Darcy also had an active warrant for providing false information to a peace officer, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the case and began follow-up efforts.
As a result of their investigation, detectives recovered additional stolen property from a home along the 800 block of Hertfordshire and identified another victim connected to a separate burglary, the Sheriff’s Office said.
All stolen items were successfully returned to their rightful owners, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives obtained two arrest warrants for burglary of a vehicle against Darcy. He was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
