EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing over $14,000 worth of automotive transmissions from a business on Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Northwest El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Ismael Soria Zamarripa, 36, is facing charges of theft of property and criminal trespass. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a total set bond of $10,100.

On Aug. 12, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a theft in progress at a business along the 6600 block of Doniphan Drive, EPCSO said.
The Sheriff’s Office said when deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with Zamarripa, who was on the property without the owner’s permission.
The investigation revealed that Zamarripa had “unlawfully” taken 18 automotive transmissions from the location, with a total estimated value of $14,400, EPCSO said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Zamarripa was then taken into custody without incident.
