EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 46-year-old convicted felon was arrested after he allegedly discharged a firearm from his vehicle last Thursday, April 10 in Socorro, according to the Socorro Police Department.
Police say at around 9 p.m. that Thursday, they were dispatched to the 11500 block of Dindinger Drive regarding reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple witnesses who reported that a man, who was later identified as Rene Rivera, 46, had discharged a firearm from his vehicle before leaving the area, according to police.
Police say Rivera is a convicted felon and had outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody and charged with deadly conduct, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of speeding, and two counts of violation of promise to appear.
He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a total bond of $51,578.
