EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 21-year-old man was arrested over the weekend and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was clocked driving more than 100 mph by a police officer, El Paso Police said.
Esteban Torres Jr., 21, was arrested on a DWI charge on Saturday, Sept. 14 and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on a $3,000 bond, police said.
Torres was seen driving northbound on Loop 375 at “a high rate of speed” around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning. An officer operating a radar gun clocked him at 113 mph in a Honda Accord, police said.
He was pulled over along the 1500 block of Joe Battle and police said he showed “signs of intoxication,” police said.
He reportedly told police that he was coming from a bar and was on his way to his sister’s house, police said.
