EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after a suspicious “unattended death” over the weekend in East El Paso, El Paso Police said.
Jaime Adrian Contreras, 39, has been arrested and booked into El Paso County Detention Center Facility on the charge of murder in the death of 74-year-old Victor Gerardo Contreras. Police did not say what led up the older Contreras’ death or how victim and suspect may be related.
About 6 p.m., Saturday, April 12, police were called out to the 11700 block of Ronald McNair Drive to a reported “unattended death.”
The older Contreras was found dead and the Crimes Against Persons Unit responded to the scene, police said.
The investigation determined that the death was “suspicious” and a warrant was obtained for Jaime Contreras. He was located and arrested. He was booked under a $2 million bond.
This is the eighth murder inside the El Paso City limits compared to five at this time last year.
We will update this story when we learn more.
