EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 21-year-old man was arrested for racing and having an obscured license plate this past Friday, Oct. 17, in Horizon, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
Police say just before midnight on Friday, they saw two vehicles actively racing at a high rate of speed at the 14300 block of Eastlake Blvd.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but both vehicles continued traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicles involved were a Dodge Charger and a Chrysler 300.
The driver of the Dodge Charger, who has been identified as Abraham Duarte Jr., 21, also conducted an unsafe lane change and had an obscured rear license plate covered with yellow caution tape.
Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on Duarte near the intersection of Rifton Court and Horizon Blvd. Duarte was arrested and charged with racing on a highway and having an obscured license plate.
Duarte was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $2,500 bond.
