EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man was arrested after shooting a person during a concert in Fabens this past Saturday, Oct. 18, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday deputies responded to reports of shots fired during a concert and off-roading event at Tequilas Center, located at 4950 S. Fabens Carlsbad Rd.
Deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting and conducted a traffic stop on a black pickup truck.
Deputies identified the driver of the truck as Orlando Alfonso Corona, 39, as the person responsible for firing shots at another male during the event. The victim was taken to a hospital where he remains in stable but critical condition, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Corona was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with bond set at $200,000.
The Sheriff’s Office major crimes unit responded to the scene and is investigating the incident.
