EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man accused of murder in the shooting death of another man last month in a Las Cruces neighborhood is being held without bond, according to a news release sent out by the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Isaiah J. Rea, 25, is being charged with one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Steven Sanchez, 34, on April 29.
On April 29, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to 1921 Princess Jeanne for a gunshot victim. Officers found Sanchez in a backyard shed with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said that Rea entered the residence from the backyard with another man and was heard discussing the shooting while leaving, according to the DA’s Office. A warrant was issued, and Rea was arrested by Las Cruces Police on May 2.
