EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 31-year-old man is dead after a crash Sunday, May 25, near Deming in Luna County, according to New Mexico State Police.
State Police say just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to a crash on I-10 near milepost 68 in Luna County.
A Ford passenger vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder of the I-10 Westbound milepost 68 overpass. The driver of the Ford was identified as Mark Dunn, 31.
Initial reports show that Dunn was trying to conduct a U-turn to head eastbound on I-10. At the same time, a Dodge vehicle was driving westbound on I-10.
The crash happened as Dunn pulled back onto I-10, and the Dodge vehicle could not avoid the crash, State Police said.
Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. The driver of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital, where his condition is currently unknown, State Police said.
