EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening, May 31 for child endangerment after he allegedly was doing “doughnuts” with a 3-year-old child in his vehicle, according to the El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 6.

At about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, a constable deputy observed a pickup truck traveling at a “high rate” of speed along the 7900 block of Alameda Avenue. The driver was also seen going in circles or making “doughnuts” across five lanes of traffic, according to the Constable’s Office.
The constable deputy did a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Herrera.
The constable deputy saw that Herrera had 3-year-old child in the back passenger seat while he was driving recklessly, the Constable’s Office said.
Herrera was arrested for endangering a child and was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was booked under a $5,000 bond, the Constable’s Office said.
The child, who was not injured, was released to a responsible party at the scene.
