EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Horizon City Police Department identified the person who is allegedly responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
The Police Department says Oscar Solis, 54, fled the scene of the crash and was later identified and located within Horizon City limits.
The Police Department says the crash happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Darrington Road and Pawling Drive in Horizon.
Police say they were dispatched to the area in reference to a crash involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was transported to a nearby hospital where we died as a result of his injuries.
Clint ISD has confirmed the teen was a student at Horizon High School.
“We are offering assistance and have started our grieving procedures for all our students and staff,” Clint ISD said.

Officers were informed by witnesses that the vehicle was a red truck and had fled the scene.
The vehicle and the driver were later located and the driver was indentified to be Solis.
Solis was arrested and transported to the El Paso County Detention Center where he is facing charges for intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death with a total bond of $120,000.
Solis was convicted of a DWI in 2003 and arrested in 2017 for another DWI, according to court records.
