EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man in a wheelchair was killed after a hit-and-run crash this past Sunday, March 23 in East El Paso, and El Paso Police are looking for the driver responsible.
Police say they responded just after 2 a.m. Sunday at the 1700 block of N. Zaragoza to a crash involving a pedestrian in a wheelchair, who has been identified by police to be Jesus Flores Garcia, 59.
Garcia was traveling on Zaragoza when he was struck by a dark-colored Sedan.
Police say the Sedan was traveling southbound at the 1700 block of N. Zaragoza when it struck Garcia and fled the scene.
Garcia was transported to a local hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
The El Paso Police Department is asking anyone who knows information on this crash to call the non-emergency number at 915-832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477 to remain anonymous.
This is the 16th traffic fatality of 2025 compared to 13 at the same time last year, police said.
