EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 25-year-old man who was currently out on bond was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 29 after evading police and possesing more than 13 grams of cocaine, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
The Police Department says officers were dispatched at around 7:30 p.m. to the area of Cow Tounge Drive and Barrel Cactus Drive in Horizon City over a vehicle that was driving recklessly.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle, and believed the driver, Rodrigo Vasquez, 25 had narcotics in the vehicle, according to the Police Department.
While Vasquez was being detained, he fled from officers on foot and officers were then involved in a foot pursuit.
Officers were able to apprehend Vasquez and later discovered over 13 grams of cocaine inside the vehicle he was driving, according to the Police Department.
Vasquez was currently out on bond for a previous arrest and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for evading arrest, and possesion of a controlled substance with a total bond of $6,000.
