EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 43-year-old man was recently arrested after he was posing as a cosmetic surgeon to sexually assault women, according to the El Paso Police.
Police say Tito Villarreal, 43, was posing as a cometic surgeon and telling women they had won a raffle for free surgery through a Facebook page.
Villarreal used “spoofing” technology to convince victims that he was calling from a legitimate medical facility.
Police say that in at least two cases, Villarreal convinced the victims (adult women) to go to a hotel in West El Paso where they were going to be getting a massage by a licensed therapist.
The investigation by Crimes Against Persons Detectives led to probable cause to charge Villarreal with sexual assault.
Police say Villarreal was arrested on Monday, Jan. 22 by officers for outstanding traffic warrants and rebooked Tuesday, Jan. 23 afternoon with the charge of sexual assault. Villarreal was issued a $150,000 bond.
