EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 36-year-old man who suffered head trauma after falling nearly 100 feet while hiking at Dog Canyon Trail on Easter Sunday, April 20, near Alamogordo, New Mexico, was rescued by Fort Bliss Army medical evaluation (MEDEVAC) crews, according to a press release from the 1st Armored Division.
The 1st Armored Division says a U.S. Army Reserve MEDEVAC team mobilized to Fort Bliss from Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos, California executed a “high-risk” rescue on Easter Sunday at around 1 a.m., after a 36-year-old man suffered severe head trauma after falling nearly 100 feet while hiking at Dog Canyon Trail near Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The man was airlifted in stable condition to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Medical Center in El Paso, the 1st Armored Division said.
Two aircrews from Golf Company, 7-158th General Support Aviation Battalion, responded to the incident.
