EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A mobile home fire displaced three residents and damaged electrical lines this past Sunday, Feb. 16, causing a temporary outage to nearby homes in Las Cruces, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.
The Fire Department says just before 1 a.m. that Sunday, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 200 block of Three Crosses Avenue.
Crews arrived to find a mobile home on fire with heavy smoke. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire from spreading to other nearby mobile homes and had the blaze under control within 30 minutes, according to the Fire Department.
The Fire Department says the fire damaged an adjacent mobile home and nearby powerlines causing an electrical outage to nearby homes.
An El Paso Electric crew responded to the incident and restored power within the neighborhood, according to the Fire Department.
“The Red Cross was contacted to help find temporary accommodations for the three displaced residents,” the Fire Department said.
The mobile home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire and damage estimates have yet to be determined. No injuries were reported.
