EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 26-year-old motorcyclist has died nearly two weeks after a crash in Northwest El Paso, El Paso Police said.
Police said Emmanuel Parra, 26, of Anthony, New Mexico, died on Tuesday, March 18 nearly two weeks after the crash in Northwest El Paso.
The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. on March 5 at the intersection of Resler and Tierra Taos, police said.
Police said they learned through their investigation that Parra was traveling north on Resler, and a pickup truck was traveling west on Tierra Taos, approaching a stop sign.
The motorcycle entered the intersection and T-boned the other vehicle.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the pickup truck were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
On Tuesday, the Medical Examiner’s Office told police that Parra had died from his injuries.
Police said failure to yield the right of way on the part of the pickup truck and speed on the part of the motorcycle are contributing factors in the collision.
This is the 11th traffic fatality in the City limits so far this year compared to 12 at the same time last year.
