EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 48-year-old man was killed when he was riding a motorcycle early Sunday morning, Aug. 31 in East El Paso and was rear-ended by another vehicle, El Paso Police said.
As KTSM previously reported, one person died following a crash involving a motorcycle at 2:30 a.m. along Interstate 10 West at the exit ramp to Don Haskins Drive.
El Paso Police confirmed on Monday, Sept. 1, that the man who died was 48-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez.
Preliminary information revealed that Rodriguez was traveling on I-10 when another vehicle rear-ended him, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, police said.
The Special Traffic Investigations unit continues to investigate the crash.
I-10 West was closed near the crash for over 12 hours, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.


This is the 41st traffic death compared to 44 at this same time last year.
