EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department (EPPD) is investigating a murder after a 53-year-old man was found unconscious with a serious injury to his forehead on Wednesday evening, Oct. 15, in South-Central El Paso.
Shortly after 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 15, EPPD responded to a possible shooting at the Jack in the Box located at 5519 Alameda. Upon arrival, officers located 53-year-old Pedro Garcia unconscious with a serious injury to his forehead.
Garcia was taken to the hospital, where it was learned his injury was not due to a shooting, but it appeared he was hit in the head with an object. However, on Thursday, Nov. 6, the Crimes Against Persons unit was contacted by the hospital that Garcia had died, according to EPPD.
The investigation is ongoing.
