EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It’s Mutt Monday at KTSM!
This week, our friends from El Paso Animal Services brought Mercedes for us to meet and hang out with.
Mercedes is one of the 25 dogs who were rescued from a Northeast El Paso property that was described as unsanitary, resulting in two people being arrested on animal cruelty charges last month.
She is now looking for her forever home!
This week, El Paso Animal Services is celebrating its animal care attendants and all the hard work they do for shelter and community pets in need.
Animal Services says animal care attendants do so much for pets, but their vital role in animal welfare often goes unrecognized.
They have one of the toughest jobs at the shelter — caring for pets that often arrive in rough condition, going through the toughest moments in their lives. However, they pour their hearts into helping them heal and prepare for loving homes.
They also provide enrichment to keep pets comfortable and happy during their stay, making their time in the shelter a little brighter.
On top of that, they help connect adopters with the right pets, assist community members who need resources to keep their pets, and even take-home bottle-baby kittens nightly until a foster is found.
Animal Services and KTSM are ready to help you find your perfect match.
