EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) wants to remind people it will not send text messages or make phone calls to collect fees or payments for traffic tickets.
If you receive a message about an outstanding ticket, do not provide any payment information, NMDOT said.

What you should do:
· Do not click on any links in suspicious text messages.
· Do not answer unsolicited phone calls regarding traffic tickets or fees.
· Block the sender or hang up and block the caller.
