EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico Department of Transportation Traffic Safety (NMDOT TSD) will be hosting a free in-person car seat fitting demonstrations from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Sisbarro Buick-GMC located at 425 West Boutz in Las Cruces.
According to NMDOT TSD, technicians will properly demonstrate and instruct parents and caregivers the correct way to install and use car seats.
To participate in the event, parents and caregivers should bring a car seat, car seat manual, vehicle manual and the child should be present if possible, according to NMDOT TSD.
Car seat inspections are only done by appointments and is free for the public.
