EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — New Mexico State Police (NMSP) will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and more throughout the month of August.
NMSP will be doing sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and registration, insurance and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties, according to the department in a news release.
The department wants to bring awareness to the checkpoints to reduce impaired driving-related fatalities. Hundreds of lives could be saved each year if every driver made the right choice to not drive impaired, according to NMSP.
