EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man was arrested this week after allegedly driving drunk and killing a man after a head-on crash in Ruidoso, according to New Mexico State Police.
State Police say just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, they responded to a fatal head-on collision near 1408 Mechem Drive in Ruidoso.
State Police say Jadyn Wyatt Mow, 22, of Nogal was traveling north on Mechem Drive in a Dodge Ram pickup truck that night.
State Police say George S. Fitzgibbon, 46, of Ruidoso, was traveling south on Mechem Drive in a Subaru.
State Police say Mow crossed the center line into opposing traffic and struck the Subaru head-on.
Fitzgibbon died at the scene and Mow received minor injuries, according to State Police.
State Police determined that Mow was driving while under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center. He was charged with DWI, resulting in great bodily harm or death.
The New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau is investigating this incident with assistance from the New Mexico State Police Vehicular Crimes Unit.
