EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Otero County Fire, with the assistance of other regional fire responders, extinguished a mobile home fire Wednesday morning, June 11, in Chaparral, New Mexico.
According to Otero County Fire, crews responded to the call at 10:54 a.m. on June 11 along the 800 block of Mesilla Drive in Chaparral.
When crews arrived, they encountered a single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames with multiple nearby structures at risk, Otero County Fire said.
Otero County Fire said they were assisted by Farsouth Volunteer Fire Department, Doña Ana County Fire, and Chaparral Fire Department.
Firefighters “launched an aggressive attack” and were able to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent homes, Otero County Fire said.
According to Otero County Fire, no injuries were reported for civilians or emergency personnel, and all individuals were accounted for.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the scene has been declared safe for neighbors to return home, Otero County Fire said.
