EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Over 250 Clint Independent School District educators have earned a prestigious designation through the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), the district announced on Tuesday, May 6, in a news release.
Clint ISD said this achievement highlights the educator’s exceptional commitment to student success and educational excellence.
The TIA program, which was established by House Bill 3 in 2019, aims to reward top teachers across Texas with higher salaries, according to the news release. The news release did not say how much teachers may be eligible to earn under this program.
Clint ISD said the program provides substantial financial incentives to outstanding teachers who demonstrate exemplary performance and contribute significantly to their students’ academic growth.
“We are thrilled to see our teachers recognized for their hard work and dedication,” Juan I. Martinez, superintendent of Clint ISD, said. “These designations are a testament to the exceptional quality of education in our district and the profound impact our teachers have on their students’ lives.”
Each designated teacher underwent a “rigorous” evaluation process that included classroom observations, student performance metrics, and other factors demonstrating their effectiveness in teaching, the district said.
“This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me. It reflects not just my hard work, but also the support and collaboration of my colleagues and the unwavering dedication of our students,” Raul Candelaria, one of the TIA designees and head band director at Horizon High School, said.
“The TIA designation aligns with Clint ISD mission to foster an environment where educators are Committed, Learner-Centered, Innovative, Nurturing and Transparent,” read the news release.
