KTSM News – Picnic shelter reservations at Ascarate Park now available

Posted on February 6, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Ascarate Park is now taking reservations for picnic shelter rentals for Easter weekend.

This year, Easter is Sunday, March 31.

Picnic shelters remain free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a county news release. Getting a reservation, however, allows families to bypass “the early morning rush” and guarantee a location.

Available shelters throughout the park can be book for $50 to $200 for the
entire day.

Reservations can be made in person by visiting the Parks and Recreation Administration Office
at Ascarate Park, 6900 Delta. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday
through Friday.

The cutoff for a reservation is Wednesday, March 27.

Visitors can plan their visit and select a shelter by viewing the park map online at
www.epcountyparks.com/parks, where the “Park Amenity Map” is listed.

For Saturday and Sunday on Easter weekend, parking at Ascarate Park will be $5, payable in cash only. Alcohol is not permitted at the park.

For further details on renting a picnic shelter and to make a reservation, interested parties are
encouraged to contact (915) 771-2380.
