EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police have confirmed that they have a suspect in the killing of a woman in far East El Paso back in 2022.
Police told KTSM that they are looking for Rafael Sanchez, whom they believe is connected to the murder of 51-year-old Marisela Velez.
Sanchez was featured in Crime Stoppers’ weekly “Most Wanted” fugitives feature this past weekend.
In July 2022, police were called out on a welfare check along the 2100 block of William Caples Street.
When they arrived, they found the woman dead.
At the time, police said there were signs of a struggle and they believed that an attack was directed at her.
