EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authorities temporarily closed the Paso del Norte bridge Thursday evening, Oct. 2, after a group of pro-Palestine protesters showed up at the toll booths on the Mexico side of the bridge, according to KTSM’s crews in Juarez.

A group of protesters marched along Juarez Avenue to the Paso del Norte bridge in support of the Palestinian people and demanding an end to the war in Gaza.
For around 30 minutes, protesters remained at the toll booths of the bridge, allegedly without obstructing the flow of cars and pedestrians.
However, CBP authorities on the U.S. side of the border closed the crossing at the midpoint over “security concerns.”
Traffic resumed as normal once the protesters left.
