EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The mayors of El Paso, Ciudad Juárez, and Las Cruces will meet Tuesday evening, May 6, in Downtown El Paso to discuss the future of the Borderplex region.
The event is being organized by Progress321, which is affiliated with the El Paso Community Foundation.
The event will be at the Philanthropy Theater, 125 W. Mills. The event starts with a news conference at 5 p.m. and then a panel discussion at 5:30 p.m. A networking reception follows.
The event is sold out, however, organizers said.
The panelists are El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson, Juárez Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar and Las Cruces Mayor Eric Enriquez. The event will be moderated by Alejandro Muñoz Mendieta of No Border Ventures.
The event is designed to create “a dialogue between regional mayors focused on cross-border collaboration, economic development, public policy, and the shared future of the Borderplex,” event organizers said in a news release.
“We’re thrilled to host a mayoral panel featuring our binational mayors. Bringing together leaders to discuss the future of our region’s economic development is at the heart of Progress321’s mission,” said Analisa Cordova Silverstein, president of Progress321. “We invite the community to join us and be part of the conversation shaping the future of our region.”
Progress321 is a nonprofit organization, affiliated with the El Paso Community Foundation. It says its mission is to “connect emerging leaders with established trailblazers, working together to make the Borderplex the best place to live, work, and create.”
