The plan will cover all municipalities within El Paso County, as well as neighboring areas in Dona Ana and Otero counties in New Mexico.
In 2023, over 200 people were killed on the region’s roads and more than 23,500 crashes occurred across the Borderplex region, EPMPO said.
An open house will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at MacArthur PK-8 School, 8101 Whitus Dr., in El Paso.
During the open house, community members will have the opportunity to be involved in the planning process, learn about the data that is being collected and share their opinion on how safety can be improved in the region whether someone is driving, walking, biking or using public transportation, the EPMPO said.
Community members will also have an opportunity to learn about and weigh in on the City of El Paso`s Climate Action Plan during the same open house, the EPMPO said.
