EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It’s that time again, that so many people dread — when you have to change your clocks.
At 2 a.m. Sunday morning, March 9, we officially start daylight saving time.
The easiest way to remember which direction to turn your clocks is the old saying — “spring forward, fall back.”
So before you go to bed Saturday night, just turn any old-fashioned clocks you may have ahead an hour. Your cell phone or any other electronic clock will automatically change at 2 a.m. local time.
Daylight saving time means an hour of extra daylight later in the day when most people can take advantage of it, but for the first couple of days after the time change, it can be a hard adjustment for many people.
Fire departments across the country also remind people to to check their home smoke detectors and change out their batteries as part of the ritual of chaning your clocks.
Daylight saving time will last until Sunday, Nov. 2.
