EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A piece of history landed in El Paso to help promote the MountainStar Sports Group Amigo Airsho in October.
Million Air El Paso has restored and is touring the Douglas A-26 Invader, a twin-engine light bomber, that played major roles in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and even in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs, according to the news release by Million Air.
Roger Woolsey, CEO of Million Air, said the plane was built in 1944 and is one of the most impressive planes to ever made.
“The fastest piston aircraft in the U.S., even to this day,” Woolsey said.
The plane is also the longest-serving aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, that Woosley said has served America for many generations.

It took Million Air months of work and many 24-hour shifts to restore the bomber plane to be flown back into the skies, according to the company.
Back in June for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the plane took a journey through Europe to land in Normandy, France, to honor the soldiers, sailors and airmen to served in that historic moment.
The plane, renamed the Million Airess, will be at the Amigo Airsho which is happening on Oct. 12-13 at the Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss.
“We’re going to be at the airshow. We’re going to have the Bomber Girls signing autographs; we’d love to have you out. There’s going to be a lot of great air show, going to be great family entertainment,” Woolsey said.
