KTSM News – Rough Edge EDC: Knives, pocket cross, leather goods from across country

Posted on May 11, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One of the best things about this everyday carry hobby are the friends you make.

During the past couple of years, I have made friends all over the country by interacting on social media and in livestreams with different YouTube channels, most notably Big Red EDC, Zach’s Stuff and lately Adventure Fifty.

During the past week, I have received several of packages of gear from some friends. Let’s take a quick look in this special “mail call” edition of Rough Edge EDC.

First off, Dewayne over at Clark’s Kentucky Knives sent me a package that contained a couple of hand-crafted wooden pocket crosses. He also sent me a two knives.

The first knife is a small Frost Cutlery “Fishers of Men” pocket knife. This knife reminds me of my first pocket knife, which I got as a souvenir when I was about 10 during a family visit to Yosemite. The promotional or “advertisting”-type script on it gives it a nostalgic feel, at least to me.

The second knife is Rite Edge liner-lock pocket knife that has a Buck 110 vibe to it. This one has a back flipper, giving it a more modern feel. Still, this knife feels like an old-school hunting knife. This one, I will probably keep in my car, just to always have a handy pocket knife available.

The “Fisher’s of Men” knife, I will probably tuck away safely so I don’t ruin that one or lose it.

All in all, it was a nice gift to get from a new friend from across the country.

I have also gotten two packages from Steven, the creative force behind Sanctified Leather. He makes handmade leather knife slips, wallets and EDC pouches right here in the U.S.A. He also has a YouTube channel and a big social media presence.

I recently purchased a leather minimalist wallet from him. This uses the vertical card holder format and it has three pouches. It can carry about five or six cards and a few folded-up dollar bills.

For over a year, I had carried a Wayfinder Flux minimalist wallet, which I loved. But it was time for a change.

Also, I bought an EDC pouch from Sanctified Leather. Steven added a few custom flairs to it — namely my initials on the back. Since I got it, I have been using it to carry a CRKT Viva pry bar and bottle opener, an Olight i3E EOS keychain light and a small Rite in the Rain pocket pen.

Both include his logo which features a hiker on a mountain with a cross at the summit. It reminds me of Mount Cristo Rey right here in nearby Sunland Park, New Mexico.

You can find out more about Sanctified Leather on his YouTube channel and on Instagram.

Just wanted to give both of them a shoutout for the nice additions to my EDC.

Note: Gear is displayed on a new “kitty”-themed hank, which is a team effort from Titanium Justin and MadYocco. This hank is made here in the U.S., too.

You can find MadYocco on YouTube and on Instagram. You can find Titanium Justin on YouTube and Instagram, as well.

I will be featuring this hank and another I got from MadYocco in future columns.
