EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Village of Ruidoso is under a flash flood emergency on Tuesday afternoon, July 8, it said on its Facebook page.
The Village is asking residents to move to higher ground and not to cross any water-covered roadways. Residents near the Rio Ruidoso are asked to move to higher ground immediately, according to the Village.
Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of streams, creeks and ditches in the South Fork Burn Scar, the Village said.
The Village is reporting that several roads are closed because of flooding.
The Ruidoso Community Center, 501 Sudderth, is open for anyone needing a temporary place to stay.
