EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A person is in custody after a shoplifter assaulted a security guard Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 19, at an Albertsons in West El Paso, according to El Paso Police.
Police say they responded just after 12 p.m. to the Albertsons on Mesa Street and Resler Drive for what they are calling an aggravated robbery.
One person is in custody. The El Paso Fire Department initially said that the security guard was stabbed but then said that the person was cut in the incident.
The security guard was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
