EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Funeral services have been scheduled for an El Paso teacher and his daughter, a high-school athlete, who were killed in a crash in Montana earlier this month, their family said.
The services for David and Kristina Butterfield will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at 1640 Broadmoor Dr. in Billings, Montana.

A crash in Laurel, Montana on March 2 killed David Butterfield, a longtime El Paso educator who was most recently a P.E. teacher at the Cesar Chavez Academy.
Kristina Butterfield, a junior at Hanks High School, suffered critical injuries in the same crash and died on Saturday, March 8. Kristina Butterfield was a member of the girls basketball team at Hanks and was ranked No. 4 in her class academically.
The family was originally planning to have the services in Utah.
But the family said they decided to hold them in Montana, because David Butterfield’s wife and the mother of Kristina, Jennifer Lakko Butterfield, was also hurt in the crash and is still recovering from her injuries.
The crash happened while they were in Montana on spring break visiting relatives.
