KTSM News – Severe flooding halts traffic in Montecillo

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Residents in the Montecillo area in West El Paso are experiencing heavy flooding in the area, impacting traffic.

Videos on social media show cars stalling on Mesa Street and traffic being moved to the right-hand lane for safe traveling.

Additionally, in the videos, you can see water rushing down from the ramp at the Alamo Drafthouse.

KTSM 9 News’ Chief Meteorologist Robert Bettes advised on social media of a flood advisory for Central El Paso until 10 p.m., due to a thunderstorm dropping heavy rainfall from Mesa Street to U.S.-54.
